Housekeeping & What Is Coming Up

may-14-2009-069

Ahem. You may have noticed that things have been a bit quiet around here. That is because I have been out of town for a week now. Before that we were all sick. Swine flu or not, whatever bug entered our home did not leave without a fight. I have to highly recommend Kimi’s garlic-honey-lemon tea. It may sound unappetizing, but I find it strangely delicious. I would drink it sick or not.

After four days total of traveling in the car over the past week I am so glad to be home and returning to a routine and my own kitchen. I will be replying to emails and comments over the next day or two.I hope to get back to everyone who emailed or commented. Thank you for your patience.

Food Roots will also return as usual this Thursday. If you have a post from last week and want to share that one please feel free. Just before we left I was able to plant my perennial herb garden as well as a plethura of annual herb pots. The garden is still a work in progress, but we are hopeful. And this week will be our first CSA share of the year and I am anxiously awaiting the delicious local produce.

You should see more recipes and encouragement for a nourishing home as I get things back to normal around here. Right now what is greatly needed is a travel detox menu plan that is both sugar and grain free.

I am happy to be back here with you all.

  1. welcome back. I missed you. By the way, I roasted my chicken last Sunday following your recipe. It was so good. I love you right back from your comment on my blog today!!

  2. Glad you are recovering from your sickness! I hope you have a peaceful week now that you are better and back at home:)

  3. You weren’t supposed to get back until I had time to answer your email. 😛 Kidding, of course!

For Food Roots, if I am incredibly uninspired and uncreative right now, may I simply take a pic of this week’s CSA share and share a recipe I plan to make from it? I had hoped to write a bit about square foot gardening, but canning has taken up all of my energy, mental and otherwise, this week.
